Welcome to Weekday Gourmet! This is me-Meredith!

I’m a high school Spanish teacher by day and a foodie by night! Cooking and baking has always been a great stress reliever for me and after always posting photos of dinners and sweet treats online I decided to see what making a blog was all about. I am by no means an expert on cooking but I’ve learned techniques through practice and trial and error 🙂

I wanted to create a blog that could show everyone easy quick meals for the work week. It is much healthier (and cheaper!) to make meals at home than going out to eat all the time. Thanks for helping to come up with the blog name Lawren!

I grew up in the Washington, DC area and went to college in Pennsylvania. I majored in English and Spanish. My family still lives in the DC area and we love to travel together.

I currently live with my husband, Ted, in Maryland, and I must say he is one of the best pots and pans cleaners I know 🙂 While he is hands off in the kitchen he is always up for taste testing!

This is Ted in amazement at how large the BGR burger we ordered for one of his birthdays was. Nine pounds!!

And of course, I cannot forget my adorable pup Keili who lives with us too. She’s always licking up our plates and keeps me company in the kitchen.
